IMPRESSIONS

Fluid organic grooves shaped after mathematical curves. Designed by a living legend of international industrial design.

The Designer

Karim Rashid

Karim Rashid is one of the most prolific and creative designers of his generation. His designs are characterized by flowing curves, organic structures, and a deep understanding of tactility and function. For Form at Wood, he created Impressions—a perfect symbiosis of digital algorithms and traditional handcraft.

"Design is about the present and shaping the physical world around us. Wood is a living, honest material that speaks directly to our human senses."

Sculptural Spatial Effect

Impressions breaks the rigid flatness of traditional walls. The soft, liquid-like relief reacts sensitively to changing light, casting smooth shadow plays that emotionally touch the viewer. These organic contours introduce a calming dynamics to premium residences, lobbies, and executive spaces.

Karim Rashid's IMPRESSIONS: Flowing Organic Solid Wood Sculptures

Karim Rashid Design Curation

The Impressions series redefines the concept of three-dimensional wood wall reliefs in an artistic way. Created in exclusive collaboration with the globally celebrated designer Karim Rashid, these wall panels feature organically flowing, mathematically calculated depressions. Instead of rigid, sharp-edged profiles, soft valleys and smooth transitions define the visual character. Each panel is a visual sensation, inviting the observer to glide their hands over the gently curved wood structures. DEKOSTYL presents this outstanding system as an official partner for ambitious interior design projects where the wall itself is elevated to a central, unmistakable work of art.

The Union of Modern Manufacturing Technology and Organic Design

The complex geometry of the Impressions panels places the highest demands on manufacturing. Each module is milled from a solid block of European oak wood or premium American walnut. Through the use of state-of-the-art 5-axis CNC milling technology, the smooth depressions, which reach a depth of up to 13 mm, can be carved out of the solid wood with absolute precision and repeatability. After the machine milling, every single panel is sanded and finished in elaborate handcraft. This interplay of digital precision and traditional craftsmanship guarantees a perfect joint fit and a flawless, velvety surface that fully emphasizes the natural beauty of the wood.

Acoustic and Visual Room Transformation at the Highest Level

In addition to their undeniable aesthetic appeal, the Impressions panels also fulfill an important functional role in spatial concepts. The asymmetric, flowing valleys and gentle curvatures act as an excellent acoustic diffuser. Incoming sound waves are not reflected harshly but scattered evenly throughout the room, leading to a vibrant reduction in flutter echoes and a pleasant acoustic calming. Visually, the Impressions collection creates a fascinating play of light and deep shadows through the continuous change of light incidence over the course of the day. This gives walls an almost living, breathing dynamic and the room exceptional depth.

FSC-Certified Materials and Eco-Friendly Hard-Wax Oil Finish

In the spirit of sophisticated, contemporary design, we place the highest value on ecological compatibility. The wood used for Impressions comes from sustainably managed, FSC-certified forests in Europe. Finishing is performed with natural, non-toxic hard-wax oils that keep the wood pores open and positively influence the indoor climate. To make it easier for architects and designers to plan this exclusive wall relief, we provide all relevant CAD and BIM files for download. Installation is straightforward by gluing the panels fully using flexible parquet adhesive on a dry, load-bearing surface.
