- What is the difference between EDGE and SMOOTH?
- EDGE creates geometry from planes set at different angles with pronounced adjoining edges. SMOOTH uses softer transitions; one organic edge divides the two planes.
- Which series are 3D and which are 2D?
- EDGE and SMOOTH are 3D series. FLAT consists of flat 2D panels. FLOW combines the 3D LUNA and SOL models with the flat RECTANGLE on the same 125 × 250 mm footprint.
- Which flat panels match the 3D models?
- TRIANGLE is the flat counterpart to PYRAMID. CARO matches DIAMOND as well as CARO PLUS and CARO MINUS. SQUARE matches PILLOW and ARCH.
- Can LUNA, SOL and RECTANGLE be combined?
- Yes. The manufacturer specifies the same 125 × 250 mm footprint for all three FLOW models and describes them as freely combinable within one wall composition.
- Which wood species are available for these decorative panels?
- For the documented EDGE, SMOOTH, FLOW and FLAT models, the manufacturer specifies oak, American walnut and ash. The exact colour and finish are selected for the product or project.
- Are decorative 3D wood panels acoustic panels?
- No. The standard decorative panels act as sound-diffusing elements through their 3D geometry. Specified sound absorption belongs to the separate HEXAGO acoustic range, not automatically to decorative panels.
- Who manufactures the panels and what is DEKOSTYL’s role?
- Form at Wood manufactures the decorative series shown here. DEKOSTYL is the official distribution partner in Germany and supports selection, sampling, project enquiries and delivery.

Decorative 3D Wood Panels for Architectural Wall Design
DEKOSTYL distributes decorative wood panels and supports projects with selection, sampling and planning. The collections use relief, perspective and natural wood grain; depending on the series, they provide three-dimensional structures or flat counterparts. Construction, wood species, finish, certificates and technical properties are specified on the relevant product pages or confirmed for the individual project.
Geometry and Compatible Footprints: Pyramid, Diamond, Pillow and FLAT
The decorative series differ in their basic shapes, relief depths and the orientation of individual planes. Depending on the product, this enables different light, shadow and layout patterns:
- Pyramid: An asymmetric triangular 3D module from the EDGE series. Its angled planes create changing relief and shadow patterns depending on orientation.
- Diamond & Caro: Diamond is a rhombus-shaped 3D panel. CARO from the FLAT series uses the same 216 × 375 mm footprint and can serve as a flat counterpart within a shared grid.
- Pillow: A square 3D panel from the EDGE series. Five asymmetrical planes set at different angles form an irregular geometric body with a cushion-like visual effect. The flat SQUARE panel can be combined within the same square footprint.
- FLAT: Flat, two-dimensional panels complement selected 3D geometries and can create calm areas within a coordinated wall layout.
Light, Shadow and Wood Grain
The appearance of a 3D wood panel changes with lighting direction, viewing angle and relief geometry. Angled or differently oriented planes create changing light-and-dark zones while the natural wood grain remains visible. Product geometry, installation direction and existing or planned lighting should therefore be considered together during specification.
Wood Species, Construction and Finishes
Depending on the product, available options include oak, American walnut and ash as well as different finishes. Construction can vary by panel; verified EDGE products, for example, may specify a plywood substrate combined with a solid-wood top layer. The technical data on each product page and its linked manufacturer source remain authoritative. Certificates and project documentation are checked and supplied on a product-specific basis.
Layout Patterns and Architectural Combinations
Available layout patterns depend on the grid and geometry of each module. Rotation, orientation and combinations of matching 3D and FLAT panels can create different wall compositions within compatible footprints. Technical compatibility is specified on the relevant product pages or confirmed for the individual project.
